MY MOBILE PHONE

I guess i have the oldest phone in town...I don't care! Some friends have been asking why dont you change your mobile? I don't really understand why they have to ask me that question. It's because its old and phase out model? So what's the matter? I can make a call and receive messages using it!!!
I bought several mobiles phones but end up sending it to my siblings. Why? Coz i'm contented with my C168 Motorolla phone, i love and dearly care of it. It has a sentimental value why i just can't change it for a new one. It was a birthday present from a black american friend whom i'v e met online last 3 years back. His name is Willie who is married to a Filipina who became my friend also.

Another thing, i saved all my contacts on it and not on the sim. And all other old messages which i have not transfered yet to my diary is saved on it.

Now, can't hardly accept that i can no longer used it. Huhuhu

ORIGIN OF MY NAME

Usually in friendster bulletin, there are questions like what is origin of your name? or what is the meaning of your name?. My answer would always be i don't know coz I have never asked my Mom why i was named Sheryl. When i was young i thought that maybe my Mom got my name from Sheryl Cruz, a filipina actress who is very famous during those days.

Even when i was in college some classmates have asked me what's the story of my name. My answer was the same i don't know. Few of them shared that their names was a combination of parents name, great grand parents, celebrities etc etc. Huh! Wish my name had its own story.

Them I was already here in Dubai when I tried to search my name in the internet but have only found shery, cheryl and other name close to it. It was through Roma's blog that i have finally found the origin of my name.

SHERYL
Pronunciation: (SHEH rill)
Origin: French, England
Meanings: Darling or Dear One, English Meaning: Charity
Other Info: Best used in English speaking countries like Canada, America, and England

A CAB DRIVER, A PREACHER

I left the office yesterday around 3pm hoping to reach American Express office before closing. Like most of the time it took me an hours to wait for a cab. I was already worried when suddenly i saw one taxi coming right on the place i was standing.
My friend can you bring me to Karama Post Office? Then he replied, sure:). The moment i sat down he asked me, how are you?. Then i said I'm ok. I don't feel to say anything other than ok nor even to ask him back if how is he.
Then even if i don't look like i'm interested to whatever he says, still he continued. His topic went to religion, asking me if i'm a Christian. So i said, yes. I think, till we reached clock tower the only word i said is yes coz i was not really in the mood to talk to him though he looks nice and sounds good as well.
Still he continued sharing me some muslim beliefs with corresponding science explanation. He told me that in Muslim you have;
- to put on your shoes first on the right foot then followed by the left foot.
- to step your right foot first while entering a room and left foot first while leaving the room.
- to use your right bare hand in eating so as the vitamins will go directly on the finger tips.
- to use your right hand in drinking water
- to lay on your right while sleeping
He said that all of the a/m muslim practices is what Prophet Mohammad had taught all muslims and it was the kind of life He had before. He also said that if you asked the doctor the same things he will said.

ROSES AND THORNS

A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully, and before itblossomed, he examined it. He saw the bud that would soon blossom andalso the thorns. And he thought, "How can any beautiful flower comefrom a plantburdened with so many sharp thorns?" Saddened by this thought, heneglected to water the rose, and before it was ready to bloom, itdied. So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us at birth grow amid the thorns of ourfaults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, thedefects. We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come fromus. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. Wenever realize our potential. Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else mustshow it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reachpast the thorns and find the rose within others. This is thecharacteristic of love, to look at a person, and knowing his faults, recognize the nobility inhis soul, and help him realize that he can overcome his faults. If weshow him the rose, he will conquer the thorns. Our duty in this world is to help others by showing them their rosesand not their thorns. Only then can we achieve the love we should feelfor each other; only then can we bloom in our own garden.
Romans 8:28
" And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose"
