4TH YEAR AT PARS OYSTER MARINE LLC

It was like yesterday when i had to accompany a friend to an interview where we go home with a promise that they'll call back to her and an instruction that i need to come back the next day.

When i came back, i was offered a letter with a note of all the responsibilities that i'll be taking care. I thank God for that day, i was already hopeless during those time because i was jobless for nearly 3 months and worried on how i can pay the installment of my debts back home.

And now as i celebrate my 4th year on this company, Pars Oyster Marine LLC, i would like to thank all the people who have been there to support and guide me all throughout those years.

Capt. Ataollah Razeghi (Managing Director) – Thank You Sir! I look at you as a father and not only as a boss. Thanks for all the knowledge you have imparted on me. Thanks for the understanding from all the mistakes that I have done. And sorry for being careless most of the time. (I would like to extend my gratitude also to your family; Ma’am Shila for being so nice and kind to me, Mana & Ava for being a good friend)
Mr. Seyed Homayoun Safavi Homami (Partner) – Thanks for the trust! It was hard to communicate with you but at the years have passed I’ve learned to understand whatever you say or instruct to me. A blink of an eye or thumbs up was even enough to convey a message. (Thanks also to Madam Mehry, Hajar, Fatemeh, Mohammad)
Mr. Hussein Salari (Partner) – Thanks for the guidance. I would have been able to do some of the task that was given to me if not of your help.
Mr. Rahmatollah Bahktari (Parnter) – Thank for the loud voice every time you visit our office. Hehehehe
Mr. Yoga Yoheswaran (Part time Accounts) – Thanks for the weekly or monthly news updates. I have known many other things from you.
Latha (Cleaner) – Thanks for a kikay moments with you…hehehe

Thank You All!

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

It has been a custom to look back at the past year and forward to the new year and our resolutions help us in a small way to solidify our hopes and aspirations for the new year. Its a good thing, taking time to stop and examine our life is helpful. Reviewing our successes and failures over the past year and start anew with specific goals in mind.
So here's my new years resolution:

  • Manage Debt - I was glad that one of my credit card was blocked by the bank so i can't used it again. I think its a must for me not to use cards anymore and manage to pay all my debts this 2010

  • Get Better Job - i shouldn't be here anymore if not because of reccession. I've been planning to shift to another company but for current economic situation of Dubai, this idea is not good.

  • Save Money - I've been working for five years now and yet i don't have any savings. I hope i can start this year...

  • Learn Something New - Upgrade my skills

  • Enjoy Life More

CHRISTMAS TRADITION

Girls Talk time again!!! Last week we talked about how we simply decorate our house during Christmas season and today another interesting topic to share, Christmas Tradition. I guess it’s very known to us that Filipinos are rich in tradition which includes how we prepare ourselves for Christmas Mass wherein all member of the family are required to attend, then followed by “Noche Buena”. Christmas Day would be a gift giving to the godchildren and kids and even to lolo and lola.

That’s how it is in the Philippines but celebrating Christmas in a Muslim country is quite different. We do attend a Christmas Mass also, followed by “Noche Buena” and gift giving… but here we usually work even on Christmas Day, and you’re lucky if you’ll be granted one day off. Good thing this year’s Christmas fall on Friday which is a rest day.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

ASMSI - UAE CHAPTER Christmas Party

Jumeirah Beach Park, Dubai UAE
December 18, 2009
8:00 - 5:00pm

Way back our lives at The Sisters of Mary School; Christmas is one of the most awaited times for us children of Fr. Al. It is the day we receive new clothes, new shoes, new school supplies, gifts and many other things. I remember Christmas Day is a festive day with plenty of foods serves in the dining table.

As proud alumni of The Sisters of Mary School, we held a Christmas Party yesterday at Jumeirah Beach Park which was attended by alumni from different Emirates. It was like the old days, plenty of foods and gifts with so much fun and enjoyment. It was not easy to gather graduates with different work schedule and with many reasons why we can’t attend a certain activity. But with the willingness and enthusiasm of some……and members with a heart to form and independent alumni group coordinating to the mother alumni…..we are now a legitimate Filipino Group here in Dubai.

Now we are working hand and hand to pay back our Alma Matter through FACFI and support needy members in any ways we can.

TAKE A PHOTO OF YOURSELF WHILE IN A RIDE

xShot

I am an enthusiast, a hobbyist and a photo addict. That day I graduated from Overseas Pinoy Professional Photographers Society I became more addicted to take photos. For the moment I’m just having my Sony DSC-W120, a very handy cam which I can bring anywhere I go and take a photo of myself and anything that I’m interested to have a shot. But taking a photo of me would always require someone, and that’s a friend, a companion or simply a passer’s by. Worst if there’s no one to take a photo of me/us. So a flat surface, a trunk of a tree or a car would be enough to place a camera and set the timer just to be a part of a photo.

Then last year I bought a tripod that I can use whenever I wanted to take a photo of a group and be a part of them. I thought a tripod was enough but then I realize that i can only use it on a balance and steady settings. What about if I’m on a ferries wheel, a cabel car, a hanging bridge or in a moving car and I wanted to take a photo? Can I still use a tripod? Definitely No! And that’s where I needed a Xshot!. It is a telescopic camera extender which you can attached on a digital camera and hold at a distance so you can take a photo of yourself even if you’re in a rides. It is very easy to use and can eliminate awkward photos taken at arms length. It is very handy and weighs just 5 oz. and extends up to 3 feet. It is made with durable metal shaft and fits all compact cameras. It is not too bulky and fits easily in pocket.

So if you’re one of those photo hobbyist like me who always wanted to be a part of a group picture or loves to take a photo of yourself while in a moving rides, why not buy a new XShot Camera Extender now.

FINALLY WE HAVE IT

Following that wish from my previous post......when i go home last Thursday i was very glad to see a Christmas Tree in our living room. That was too soon for my wish to be granted. I was just blogging about Christmas Decor in the morning and wishing to have a giant Christmas Tree and then there it was....a cute and simple Christmas Tree prepared by our soon to be a mom "Mama Leslie". Thanks dear....you just don't know how you made me happy that day...

Together with it....are the gifts for the raffles and kris kringle. It may not big as I wish but its more than enough to let us feel the spirit of Christmas in our flat...i thought we will have it a day before Christmas...

With Ina & Mike

I'm feeling excited for the Christmas Eve...with the proposed menus, the games, the exchange gift and to all visitors who will join us for the Noche Buena.

CHRISTMAS DECOR

I'm busy! I need to prepare the list of Parlor Games for ASMSI - UAE Chapter Christmas Party tomorrow but i can't just set aside today's Girl's Talk meme since i've been late posting my entry for the last two weeks.

Well, as of now we don't have any Christmas Decor in our flat. It's not that we don't want it but it's because we don't have time to even decorate our living room but i heard one of my flatmate will put some decoration a day before Christmas.

I wish we have a giant Christmas Tree with a file of gifts for our Kris Kringle. (like the photo shown above)

MIDNIGTH MASS

It's 11:30 pm here and i should be sleeping now but because Vane (hubby's cousin) and i attended the first "Midnight Mass" i'm still here pretty alive and kickin' while watching Pinoy Big Brother....hehehe So let me brief you about the first night of "Simbang Gabi"

Before the mass started there's a little program at the main entrance of the church and right after the reading and homily of the Priest about the season of advent and Christmas… it was followed by the celebration of Filipino's first midnight mass at the covered court.

As usual, every corner of the Saint Mary's Church compound is filled with Filipinos attending the celebration. Well yeah, it's Christmas and when you say about Christmas in the Middle East...it was just like an ordinary day…and you won’t really feel the spirit of the season. For those years that I’ve spent Christmas here, I wish that I’m home celebrating the festive season with my family. Here you can’t feel that it’s Christmas unless you attend the Nine Mornings where you can be reminded how we usually celebrate it at home.

I miss celebrating Christmas at the Land of the Howling Wind, Catanduanes. I miss the Christmas Cheers where every municipality prepares a program to be presented at the Rizal Plaza before the Midnight Mass begins and continued after the Mass everyday. I miss the Beer Plaza. I miss the “puto bumbong”, “kutsinta”, barbeque, “isaw”, “pinoy”, “balut” and any other filipino food that is available every night. I miss my family and friends…Huhuhu

DREAM GIFT

Yousaytoo Blog Awards

Recently I’ve been so much interested about making money online and I would like to thank Niko for helping me out. In a few days time I’ll be receiving my $$$ from my first paid post. I just had my two transactions from Social Spark but the 2nd post was not approved and will not be accepted for resubmission since it follows a paid post also which I’m not aware since I’m new to this.

And now as a newbie to making money online I would like to take every opportunity seriously. My ASMSI Friends has been earning $$$ through blogging as part time since they are all an employee like me. Through them I started to blog since 2005 but I came to this idea of making money through blogging last month. I was blog hopping yesterday when I came across this YouSayToo’s awards where I became interested to join My Sweet Serenity and Our Lives Together, so I immediately sign up and after reading the awards rules and being a new subscriber with my 2 blogs this could give me a chance of bringing home my DREAM GIFT.

As a photo hobbyist I’ve always been dreaming to have an SLR Camera and I really wanted a Nikon D80 or a Nikon D200 but being a bread winner supporting 3 siblings in college and 1 in a Laboratory High School I chose not to buy it for now and focus in helping them. I am an Overseas Filipino Worker in Dubai working as a secretary of a Marine Services company which people may think that I have plenty of money but as an employee earning a minimum wage and considering the higher cost of living here is impossible to acquire any stuff that I may have just wanted such that of camera. Now I’m taking this chance and I wish to win that $1000 reward in cash not to buy for an SLR Camera but to help my youngest brother to enroll in college. He wanted to take an Engineering course next school year but I told him that with my current financial status I can’t promise to support him as I have 2 other siblings who are graduating next year who needed enough money for their thesis so I can’t send him to college unless otherwise he will take for a scholarship. But if I won this award at least it can cover his tuition fees for first semester and only worry for the following semester which I’m sure I can find ways and maybe by that time my sister would be working here already.

Other than the $1000 major price for these YouSayToo’s awards, they are giving fun gifts for the other nine lucky bloggers with their choice. Among those gifts, I like to have that Retro Web Cam because I may not acquire that Nikon Camera but at least I have something which is related to photography.

So guys if you want to join this YouSayToo’s awards, holiday dream gift, click here and enter your blog in the awards for the chance of winning $1000 and other fun gifts.

RAIN ACROSS UAE

As predicted by UAE weatherman, there will be rain, isolated showers and thunderstorms across UAE till tomorrow .

Rain showers started yesterday, reason why we were not able to attend the Bayanihan Festival at Zabeel Park. My hubby's cousin also waited for the rain to stop till evening since she wanted to hang their clothes outside but the rain didn't stop...:(.

Then today morning, i am half way going to the bus stop when the rain started to fall again and when i reached the waiting shed i took above photo which marks the whole night rain......

Today's weather is the best time to spend the whole day sleeping. How i wish i can....

HAVE YOU EVER WON ANY CONTEST?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Incendia Health. All opinions are 100% mine.

She never said, but I know and I always feel that I was my granny’s favorite grand –daughter. Now that’s she’s nearly 80’s she often complains about her sight. For the past years she can hardly recognize a person unless you’re near to her. The last time she had her check up; the doctor said that she has a cataract which is a normal part of her aging. But at her stage, she is still very strong and capable of doing all the household chores and even to travel alone visiting her children from different places.

And now, if there’s one thing I’d like to suggest to her which I hope this time she’ll agree, I’d like to send her to an eye care professional that can help her improve her vision. I’ve read Abbott Medical Optics, Inc. (AMO) is focused on providing the full range of advanced refractive technologies and support to help eye care professionals deliver optimal vision and lifestyle experiences to patients of all ages. I hope there is a branch in the Philippines so I can send my grandmother to them or to any similar eye clinic offering the same services.

BIRTH TALK

Another girls talk time!!! You know what's my only wish while typing my post for today's theme is that i hope Niko will have her internet connection at home or those sites whom she usually visit at work will be unblocked.

I don't really have an exact story about my birth date other than that i was born out of wedlock. My mom gave birth to me when she was 24 and named me Sheryl which i don't know why she chose this name. I was registered without my fathers name on my birth certificate. My complete name is Sheryl Ferrer but it should be Sheryl Ferrer Tabuzo. My granny told me why it happened that i don't have my father's name on my birth certificate...that's because they we're afraid that my father would have the right to take me from them who are actually planning to send me to US since my Aunt is planning to adopt me????...i heard some more stories about my birth from hearsays but i don't know if it was true. My mom never told me how i came to this world...hehehe

My birthday is June, 23 and i was born on the year of the ram (1979). My zodiac sign is Cancer. My traditional birthstone is Alexandrite and Emerald.

LADIES NIGHT 3

Thursday Night! Is the Night!! Hehehe!!!

Here we are again taking advantage on the ladies night's free drinks. Thanks to Roma who insisted to go out. First we went to the nearby Dhow Palace Hotel, Club Submarine. There were few people around when arrived to the bar and it's kinda boring and so after we finished the two bottles free drinks we decided to shift to Plan B at Wafi City.

What a sexy pose!!! Hehehe...as if my hubby knows that i'm partying with the girls. I didn't ask for a permission coz i'm sure he might say "No" again.

Imagine how many bottles we all had?
