Today is the start of Ramadan (The Holy Month of Fasting) for all the Muslim around the world. During this period Muslims abstain from all sorts of food, drink and any activity deemed improper. The month is used as a sort of cleansing period for the body and a rejuvenation of the soul.As i have observed for the last 3 years, during this period even non Muslims are restricted to drink water esp in public places. Restaruants and coffeeshops are close during the day and opened only after Iftar (The time when Muslims break their fast as the sun begins to set, coincides with the Maghrib prayer.) Disco Houses and all places for enjoyment and fun are close for the whole month. Malls and shopping centers are open till 1 - 2 am.
