COMFORT FOOD




Hi everyone! Haven’t you noticed, last month we’ve been talking about body figures and sexiest part of our body. Some was even shy to share their vital stats for the reason that they don’t feel good showing their baby fats and full tummy (call it baby & full so as not to be obvious hehehe). And now, we’ll be sharing here the reasons of not maintaining a sexy cola figure...

Am sure since I’m not a good cook I will enjoy this month’s theme which is food galore… so for the start which is about comfy food…I don’t know which one to share since I have a plenty choices for comfort food….but since I am currently living in the Middle East let me share you the famous one that they can offer as stomach filler….the shawarma.


Shawarma is a Middle Eastern sandwich-like wrap of shaved lamb, goat, chicken, turkey, beef, or a halal mixture of meats. The meat is placed on a spit, and may be grilled for as long as a day. Chunks of fat within the meat ensure that the shawarma stays juicy. Shawarma is a fast-food staple across the Middle East and North Africa.

Most shawarmas are made outside restaurants, you can spot the shawarma shops by their massive towering logs of revolving meat and their vertical red cookers that are sizzling the rawness away. These meat towers are usually manned by shawarma cutters, sometimes dressed in entire cook’s outfits replete with French chef hats. The men wield lengthy knives with which they slice off bits of the meat into a receptacle. These hearty souls are usually drenched in sweat, being outside in the Middle East weather, fully dressed, and standing before searing hot cooking grids.


It is a popular street food here in Dubai. Its taste is very appealing among UAE residents and being a Filipino who loves street foods way back in the Philippines I’ve learned to like it and love it now as my comfort food. I would buy it whenever I feel hungry and eat it while walking on my way home.

The receptacle that the meat falls into is also usually home to some of the shawarma’s toppings, such as sliced tomatoes, onions or cucumbers. This allows the vegetables to soak up the meat juices from above, giving them a very distinct taste.It is served with pickles, garlic paste and even french fries are added.

lam mo ate di pa ko nkakatikim nito.. bukod kc sa di ako kumakain ng beef ntatakot ako na baka ung unang tikim ko di ko magustuhan hehehe

san ung may pinakasarap sa shawarma dito sa pinas?? hihih try ko tlga and will tell u kng type ko sya lol hahahah
