HOW TO FORGIVE

"One of the hardest, thorniest and most difficult things we humans are ever called upon to do is to respond to evil with kindness, and to forgive the unforgivable. We love to read stories about people who've responded to hatred with love, but when that very thing is demanded of us personally, our default seems to be anger, angst, depression, righteousness, hatred, etc. Yet study after study shows that one of the keys to longevity and good health is to develop a habit of gratitude and let go of past hurts.Want to live a long, happy life? Forgive the unforgivable. It really is the kindest thing you can do for yourself. Your enemy may not deserve to be forgiven for all the pain and sadness and suffering purposefully inflicted on your life, but you deserve to be free of this evil. As Ann Landers often said, "hate is like an acid. It destroys the vessel in which it is stored."

ADMIN WORK IS BORING???

A couple of months back, I’m at the point where I am depressed at work, there is nothing do to here! I usually always have to stretch out my work, so it looks likes I am doing something. I feel like my mind is turning to mush!!!

Then today while chatting with my bestfriend she brought out the topic that admin works are boring like typing a correspondence, sending fax message, answering phone...etc...and that there is no challenge. Well, i said "You maybe right" But deep within in me i wanted to tell her that she's definitely wrong.

I've been working in this company nearly 3 years. I could say it's boring coz i'm the only employee here. But when it comes to challenge....hmmm..
  • Coordinates with Immigration and Labour Office for my Visa & Work Permit Application. We don't have a PRO and since i was the first employee so i am responsinble for all necessary arrangement for my visa and work permit. Just imaagine how i manage to convince the labour staff just to issue the work permit. He told me that i was not supposed to be the one arranging for it. "Where is your boss? he's in Iran. How about the sponsor? He's not available? No, i canno't issue this to you, ask your boss or sponsor to take it from here. Sir, pleeeeaaaassssseeeeeeeeee. In most of the government offices seldom u can see a lady processing/arranging for any documents. So when i was trying to explain to the labour staff that i needed my work permit badly , all the gents turn their attention on me...hmmm i've raised my voice i guess...hehehe
  • Renew the company's Trade License at the office of Department of Economic Development.
  • Collect No Objection letter from Ports & Customs - Rashid Port. As a marine services company we are required to have that NOC from Ports & Customs as part of requirements for the renewal of license.
  • Meet the President of Bank Saderat Iran just to ask for the Tender Guarantee for our vessel. etc etc.
  • Explain to the clients the reason for the delays of our payments. I shouldn't be explaining to them since i was not the owner of the company but since my boss intructed me to do so on his behalf...so what to do. Funny that sometimes they don't really believe or they're not convince in my explanation.
  • Etc etc.. those are just some of the challenge i have encountered here...hehehe

ASMSI - UAE CHAPTER FOUNDATION

Finally, after 3 long years of trying to organize the ASMSI residing in UAE, we prouldly present ASMSI - UAE CHAPTER.

For me, i consider the foundation of this group as our gift to our dear Fr AL who is celebrating his birthday today. (Dear Fr.Al, Wherever your are I know you are happy for all our efforts to organize the graduates here in UAE).

Since 2005 through the leadership of Kuya Jhvn Mariano, we have gathered for about 7-8 times for this purpose but since most of the graduates are busy and having different working times, we found it difficult to organize. Most of the time same attendees or if not new faces each meeting.

FRIENDS COME AND GO

" A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the contents of one's heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away."
--Arabian Proverb--
Angels
Tara L. Olson
Life is a journey,
a journey that takes us down many roads.
Some good and some not so good.
But as we travel we learn,
grow, and meet
people that make those journies all worth the travel.
Those kind of people in a way are like
Angels.
With them we find comfort in the arms of our
Angels.
Friends come and go,
and from each one we learn more about our selves.
We see our weakness are strengths
from the eyes of another.
But the ones that stay and inprint our hearts are the ones we keep close and safe within,
like an Angel.
And there we find comfort in the arms of our Angels.
So I write this message with love and thanks.
For you have touched my life,
watched me fall,
and you raised me up like anAngel
sent from God.
And that is where I always found my comfort.
In the arms of my Angel,
and their name was

DANCE SPORTS AND SOCIAL CLUB

FDC 3rd Batch 2007 John & Ann Swing
FDC 3rd Batch 2007 Aron & Jenny Swing
See whose back is that? Hehehe

Who says life in Dubai is boring? Well for some... maybe YES... and for others maybe NO. Life here can never be boring. Dubai offers the best amenities. And if you stayed the whole day of your weekend at home... i can say it's really boring. You can never see the beauty of this amenities if you locked yourself at the 4 corners of your flat or villa.
So instead of laying down on your bed, why not explore the parks, beaches, mountains, malls of U.A.E, particularly Dubai. Well it's expensive to go anywhere but you have options. You can simply take the public buses to go to Zabeel Park, Jumeirah Open Beach, Mall of Emirates etc etc . It's all accesible to transportation. And if you would like to explore more... you can join some groups who can offer you a package of going anywhere in a cheaper rate while at the same time you're learning. Try to join Overseas Pinoy Professional Photographers Soceity
Or if you don't like the outdoor gimmicks, you can join the indoor sports like lawn tennis, bowling, swimming etc etc...or the combination of social life and sports. Filipino Dance Sports and Social Club can offer you both. But if you just want to stay sexy and young being a ballroom dancer, Filipino Dance Club Dubai is the best group for you.

SKIN ASTHMA/ALLERGY

Asthmatics! This condition runs in our family. Two of my brother had a lung asthma...Bobo and Bong. They say before 7 years old asthma attach should stop or else it will keep on coming back especially when triggered. Good thing Bong's asthma had stop before he turned 7 but not for my younger bro. Till now he is suffering from this being "hikain". He's already 15 now.

Base on the article i have read from Sunstar Davao.... Asthma, allergic rhinitis and atopic dermatitis (a.k.a skin asthma) are related. If a family member has one of this, others may suffer from any of the two.

Ok fine it runs in the family so aside from my brother i have this allergic rhinitis. I have not gone for a check up to confirm whether this is what i have but based on the symptoms i dearly confirm that i have skin asthma.

When i was 5 till i reach 13 years old i could not eat shrimps or crabs because of allergy. But my granny told me don't mind the allergy just go and eat till your body get used of it then the allergy will go.....which i did. I continued to eat more shrimps and crabs (my uncle's who is a fisherman used to bring us crabs those times). And if after a minute i'd be feeling bad and starts to sratch any parts of my body, Nanay will prepare "bao ng niyog" with "baga", "kamanyang" (myrr) and incense. Then on top of it she will put the "balat ng hipon or talukap ng crabs" till it burns. And i will inhale the smoke while i am covered with blanket. Wait till i sweat until the allergy (redness) disappear.

Now that i'm here in Dubai, the more i suffer with this allergy especially during winter season. And worst thing...the occurence is severe.

RAMADAN KAREEM

Today is the start of Ramadan (The Holy Month of Fasting) for all the Muslim around the world. During this period Muslims abstain from all sorts of food, drink and any activity deemed improper. The month is used as a sort of cleansing period for the body and a rejuvenation of the soul.

As i have observed for the last 3 years, during this period even non Muslims are restricted to drink water esp in public places. Restaruants and coffeeshops are close during the day and opened only after Iftar (The time when Muslims break their fast as the sun begins to set, coincides with the Maghrib prayer.) Disco Houses and all places for enjoyment and fun are close for the whole month. Malls and shopping centers are open till 1 - 2 am.
